Japanese automaker Mazda announced that it will refuse to produce models equipped with gasoline and diesel engines by 2030. According to company representatives, by that time only hybrids and electric cars will leave the conveyors.
As it became known to the media, the decision is dictated by increasingly strict environmental requirements, which are made by the largest countries in the world. It will also be a step aimed at strengthening the company's position in the European market, which is already saturated with environmentally friendly machines from local producers.
Mazda was not the first company to take such a step. Previously, the transition to the production of only hybrids and electric vehicles announced the company Jaguar Land Rover and Volvo.
