Mazda2 cosplays a hot hatch in Japan

Japanese tune-up shop Auto Exe came up with an aerodynamic kit for the Mazda2 making it look like a hot hatch. The engine was left alone, and suspension mods boiled down to a front strut brace and shortened springs.

The company worked with a Sport+ spec, which boasts a special radiator grille pattern and red exterior accents.

Starting with the front end, the additions included gloss-black parts and a large splitter smoothly transitioning into side skirts. Imitated air vents and diffuser appeared at the rear along with an intimidating rear wing above the tailgate. Black trims were applied to the door handles, and a chrome decal made its way onto the fuel tank lid. Window deflectors rounded things off on the outside.

The engine stayed stock, which in the case of the Mazda2 means a 1.5-liter Skyactiv-G mill rated at 115 PS (113 hp / 85 kW) in the top spec. The wheels also appear stock and rather tiny for an aggressive car like that.

All parts can be purchased separately. The deflectors and the tank lid trim are the cheapest at ¥16,500 and ¥11,000, respectively. The entire package will set you back ¥445,060. The car itself (see video) is four times as expensive as the full kit.
