Mazda unleashes Wankel-powered RX-Vision GT3 onto the streets – but not for everyone

Many Mazda fans waited in eager anticipation for the moment when the manufacturer would finally unveil a supercar with a rotary engine under the hood. It did! There is a catch, though.

The RX-Vision GT3 packs a SkyActiv-R mill rated at 562 hp (419 kW) and is extremely capable on track – the virtual track, that is. The supercar only exists in the Gran Turismo video game universe.

Mazda first mentioned the RX-Vision GT3 during the Gran Turismo World Finale championship last November. Back then, it revealed the first sketch of its upcoming virtual supercar, which looked almost exactly like the RX-Vision Concept (see video for details).

In the end, the virtual racer received exhaust sidepipes, a wide body kit, a new hood cover, a front splitter, fender flares with gill-like vents, a rear diffuser, and an enormous rear wing.
