Mazda Motor Corporation, a reputable Japan-based car maker, has recently said it was working on a SUV which would only be sold in North America. Kogai Masamichi, CEO of the company, has personally confirmed this information.
It is worth noting that the new Mazda crossover will be assembled in the U.S. as well. The company’s logic behind the decision is simple: it wants to conquer back the market positions it once had.
According to Masamichi, the new SUV is going to be “a bestseller” – a feat Mazda hopes to achieve through extensive use of the latest in car technology and material design. The new vehicle will be added to the existing product line but won’t compete with either the CX-3, the CX-5, or the CX-9.
Unfortunately, technical specs, estimated release date or the name of the new Mazda SUV haven’t been revealed yet.
