Nearly 7.5 thousand cars have been sold in paid pre-orders during the first day of sales of the new Mazda CX-8 crossover designed especially for the Japanese market. This is a cast improvement over the company’s initial plans to sell around 1,200 cars in monthly pre-orders.
While the new Mazda CX-8 is intended for sale exclusively in Japan, it uses the same platform as its international counterpart, the CX-9. The vehicle comes with a 2.2L diesel which outputs 190 hp.
Buyers may choose between the 6-door and the 7-door version of Mazda CX-8, and go for either 17-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels. As usual, different trim levels come with various features for steering assistance and safety, as well as an optional touchscreen-enabled infotainment system.
The new Japanese Mazda CX-8 crossover can be purchased for 3,196,800 Yen and above.
