Mazda updates CX-5 for Europe

The Mazda CX-5 has received a bunch of upgrades for the Old World markets – let’s see which specific ones.

First and foremost, the crossover SUV now also ships with a 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine rated at 184 PS (181 hp / 135 kW). This version is front-wheel-drive only. Additionally, all EU specs now include a 10.25-inch widescreen display by default instead of the old 8-inch one. Using the selector knob becomes more intuitive, and MyMazda mobile app expands its functionality.

Elsewhere, the manufacturer promises faster throttle response and improvements in the six-speed manual gearbox control unit.

A cherry on the top comes in the form of a so-called Homura Edition, which brings along black exterior details, exclusive 19-inch wheels, and a cabin adorned with red stitching.
