The Mazda CX-50 is now available in a new version called Meridian Edition, targeting adventure-loving enthusiasts who need a rugged ride for an occasional wilderness trip.
Prices in the United States start from $39,950 with the shipments scheduled for the fall. The car is based on the CX-50 2.5 turbo spec upgraded with 18-inch black wheels, Falken 225/60R18 tires, a matte-black hood, different headlight décor and rugged side sills.
Customers may choose between two exclusive shades called Zircon Sand and Polymetal Grey for the exterior finish, but the cabin comes wrapped in brown leather without any customization options. Paying extra gets you a package called Apex, which adds black mudguards and an expedition rack including a platform and bars.
Powering every CX-50 Meridian Edition is a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed A/T and AWD. The output is a fixed 230 PS (227 hp / 169 kW).
