Up until recently, the petite Mazda MX-5 was the only RWD car the brand offered in the Old World countries. The CX-60 joined the rear-wheel-drive club not long ago, and its seven-seat alternative – the spacious CX-80 – is on its way to the showrooms soon.
The SUV will essentially be a stretched version of the CX-60, which you can see in our gallery and video here. It will likely get the same assortment of inline petrol and diesel engines mated to Mazda’s usual eight-speed automatic transmission.
The automaker has not disclosed any details so far, except that the CX-80 will feature the same stability control system as the MX-5, namely the Kinematic Posture Control (KPC).
