BBR pimps up Mazda MX-5

It could be argued that Mazda MX-5 is a real jewel of Japanese automotive industry with lots of fans across the world. Of course, nothing is perfect, with quite a few MX-5 owners complaining about the subpar engine power. It is this problem that the engineers of the British tuning atelier BBR decided to address in their “pimped up” version of the car.

As we told in an earlier story, the company had previously unveiled an engine upgrade for the 2.0-liter version MX-5. Now the time has come for the low-end 1.5-liter engine to get that much-needed boost as well. Once outfitted with the BBR Stage 1 turbocharger, the motor went up from 129 all the way up to 210 horsepower.

The Mazda MX-5 ND Stage 1 tuning kit can be purchased for £4,395. Add another £600 if you want it installed.
