Mazda has its sights set on full carbon neutrality

The current Mazda EV portfolio is rather small. There is the MX-30 EV, the marque’s first all-electric car in production (see the gallery), the CX-30 SUV for China, and eight electrified models listed as work in progress. However, the company is still determined to go all-electric by the mid-2030s and not a year later.

As ambitious as the goal may sound, it is only Mazda’s first step towards becoming completely carbon-neutral worldwide by 2050, including the entire supply network. Furthermore, the company plans to cooperate with researchers and government authorities in order to promote the use of zero-emission transports on its domestic market of Japan and ultimately other markets, too.

Last but not least, the automaker vows to use the experience gathered from operating and retrofitting its industrial facilities to work out the best approaches to building factories in the rest of the world.
