A new and improved two-rotor engine is under development for the U.S. market right now, said Mazda CEO Masahiro Moro.
The company currently only employs a single-rotor engine in its production car range. It serves as a range extender in the part-electric MX-30 R-EV (shown below). The dual-rotor version is bound to be more powerful.
According to Moro, the engineering department will make sure that the new engine complies with the strict environmental standards adopted by some U.S. states.
