A car aficionado by the name of Rowdy, from Rowdys Garage, committed a sacrilegious act with this Mazda RX-7, ditching its iconic rotary engine in favor of a supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8.
As one could expect, a swap like this posed many different challenges. Among other things, the tuner had to move the steering rack down quite a bit and remove the hood cover altogether. Even so, the massive Hellcat mill barely squeezed into the space freed.
Next up, Rowdys Garage will be transplanting the Hellcat eight-speed auto transmission into the Mazda and starting it in test mode to see how things work. There is a risk of the sports car becoming too front-heavy after these modifications, so front suspension reinforcements are also on the list.
