A valuable rotary-engined Mazda RX-7 with around 70,000 km (43,500 miles) on the clock is up for grabs in the USA right now. The question is, is it worth $55,000 to you modded like that?
The base vehicle is an FD3 type RX-7 manufactured back in 1995. Responsible for the body kit is a Japanese shop named RE Amemiya, which we know for its truly stylish and memorable aftermarket body kits. This one might constitute an exception, though.
The nose, the sides and the rear end are all redone from scratch with some strong Porsche 911 vibes going at the front. However, while the German sports car looks sleek and dapper in just about any suit, this RX-7 looks bloated and about to melt down like a wax figure. The rear end is not as aggravating as the rest, but the whole styling still strikes us as weird at best.
The cabin and the drivetrain are largely stock, the seller notes. The important thing to consider is that fifty-five grand might be not so bad for an exotic such as this, whether you like the modifications or not. Let it go, and you may end up waiting years for the next decent deal.
