Mike Whiddett, a pro racer and drifter from New Zealand, has built what he calls the world’s only vehicle with a five-rotor Wankel engine under the hood.
Whiddett, who is known for his passion towards such engines and the Mazda brand, reportedly used some parts of the fourth-gen Mazda RX-7 for this build. Still, both the powertrain and the chassis are completely new here, so there’s no drawing parallels.
It is unclear how high the output of the 3.3-liter screaming mill is, but you can watch the video for a nice demo of it. The body kit comes from Rocket Bunny (Japan), and the intake, induction, ignition and exhaust are redone from scratch.
We are looking forward to seeing the car hit the actual racetrack soon.
