McLaren has released a few more photos of its new sports car designed for long road trips. The vehicle, which will premiere next month, remains wrapped in test mule cladding, but you can now get a clearer idea of its shape and dimensions.
The luxury car manufacturer says the development of its fourth model is nearly complete. The grand tourer has been tested in various regions of the Earth under extreme weather conditions, and still more testing is underway. Among other things, the company will be sending its “McLaren of Grand Tourers” on a 1,600-kilometer (~1,000-mile) long journey from Barcelona, Spain to Woking, England.
Technical details remain scant. The supercar is loosely based on the McLaren Speedtail architecture and should offer the driver and passengers an “unprecedented” level of comfort. McLaren claims that it has a spacious interior and a large trunk compartment (by GT standards), and is a pleasure to drive,
The company says its new GT model is standalone and unique in all respects. As such, it will not be considered part of any existing McLaren car range, but rather start a range of its own.
The name of the car and its technical specs will be announced soon.
