It has been a while since McLaren revealed to us that it was working on a new Grand Tourer model. Shortly after the first official teaser pic came out, car spotters managed to obtain first photos of the supercar during a test drive. Today, they managed to catch another glimpse of the elusive newcomer.
The car still goes without an official name. It should celebrate its premiere next month followed by a market launch in the fall of 2019.
The exterior design of the McLaren’s new GT resembles that of the 570GT, except for the less aggressive-looking rear spoiler, leaner rear fenders, and simpler doors. This appears completely normal, since the company conceptualizes the car as first and foremost a vehicle for long road trips, perhaps lass sporty but at the same time more elegant than its peers. Then again, McLaren CEO Mike Flewitt has already promised to keep the performance at a respectable level.
Rumors say the car might arrive packing the 3.8-liter turbocharged V8 engine of the 570GT. Initially rated at 562 hp / 419 kW, it might get a boost in the new version.
