McLaren has announced a new supercar with a hybrid powertrain that the company plans to start producing next year. The coupe is currently running its final track tests and should occupy the market segment between the GT and the 720S when it ships.
The still-unnamed model comes based on the MCLA architecture and an electrified hybrid system based around a twin-turbo V6. Its power isn’t being discussed yet, but the company reports that all-electric range will be greater than 18 miles (30 km).
It is emphasized that the newcomer is “McLaren’s first hybrid-powered production supercar”, rather than a concept or a limited edition.
