A pink McLaren 570S has spent years sitting motionless in front of a
luxury hotel in London, reports Autoevolution. The identity of the owner
and the reason for the abandonment are a mystery.
The publication points out that the car has already become a sort of a landmark, with tourists often purposefully traveling to Camden Borough in order to have a close look at it. Local reports seem to indicate that the car has sat in front of the hotel since 2018, or possibly even longer than that. Autoevolution points out that the most accurate-looking reports say it was parked there sometime in 2020.
The prevalent theory is that the car belongs to a visitor to the UK who arrived in the country before the Covid-19 pandemic and has since been unable to return to their homeland. A special order from the hotel management was issued to prevent the car from being moved to a long-term parking lot for abandoned cars. Apparently, putting it there was only going to attract “more undue attention” to it.
Commenters on the Internet have their own theories to share. Some believe that the mysterious owner of the pink 570S simply doesn’t feel like leaving London anytime soon and can afford paying for the parking space for years on end. Others suppose that the car belongs to a co-founder of the hotel business, who prefers to hide this fact for some reason.
