McLaren teases new, extreme 570S

The British McLaren Automotive has uploaded a new official teaser image showing an unannounced top-end version of the 570S supercar. Regrettably, an exhaust system with twin pipes – likely made of carbon – is the only thing shown on the close-up photo.

According to some unconfirmed sources, the vehicle is going to be released as the McLaren 570LT. It is going to get a reworked 3.8-liter V8 engine with dual turbochargers. In contrast to the stock McLaren 570S, whose power is rated at 570 hp / 425 kW, its performance is going to exceed 600 hp (447 kW). The vehicle will likely be able to accelerate 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in 3.2 to 3.4 seconds and ultimately reach 330 km/h (205 mph).

On the outside, the McLaren 570LT will get a revised aerodynamic package, lighter body parts, new wheels and tires. On the whole, engineers expect to modify or replace 110 elements of the supercar.

The extreme vehicle will celebrate its premiere on June 28, 2018, and enter the market in a series of 500 units priced at £200,000 each.
