The UK sports carmaker is now owned by an investor from the UAE.
McLaren Automotive was acquired by the Sovereign Wealth Fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain this spring. According to a recently published new agreement, the company is now owned by CYVN Holdings based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The press release points out that the deal aims to “attract additional investment” and “accelerate the evolution of EV technology”. Later on, CYVN Holdings plans to buy a share in McLaren’s racing division.
