One out of 500 McLaren 675LT Spider supercars will cross the auction block this Friday, September 15. The seller is none other than Sebastian Loeb, nine-times winner of the World Rally Championship.
The model was introduced eight years ago as a special take on the McLaren 650S. Compared to that car, it had a revised aerodynamic formula with a long tail – hence the ‘LT’ suffix. Carbon-fiber bodywork came along with active aerodynamic parts.
The 3.8-liter V8 under the hood ended up with upgraded turbochargers, an improved fuel system and other modifications. As a result, the output went up from 650 to 675 metric horsepower and sprint time went down to 2.9 seconds.
In the same year 2015, the 675LT received a droptop version called Spider, which had identical specifications and dynamic performance. It was released in a production run of 500 units, same as the coupe.
Loeb’s example was finished in a custom color with a black and orange cabin and lots of optional carbon parts. It was produced in 2017 and purchased by Loeb in 2019. With 8,840 km (5,493 miles) under its belt, it is expected to sell for up to 320,000 Swiss Francs, which is just under 360,000 USD. It is also comparable with the price of a new supercar like this in the mid-2010s.
