McLaren has released a highly special 675LT sports car to commemorate the famous McLaren F1 GTR that came second at the 24 Hours of Le-Mans endurance race in 1997.
The unique vehicle took over 1,000 hours to assemble. It ended up with the same livery as its antecedent from 1997 – the same orange band running across gunpowder-tinted body. It also received large-diameter orange wheels and an aerodynamic package by MSO. The latter contains a rear diffusor, a front splitter and two side skirts. The McLaren 675GT also has several interior features not present in the original F1 GTR.
The hood cover of the vehicle conceals the old 3.8-liter V8 engine assisted by dual turbochargers. Its performance exceeds 670 hp (500 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb·ft) of torque. Coupled with a DCT transmission, the engine accelerates the vehicle 0-100 (0-62 mph) in mere 2.9 seconds.
