Almost any supercar showdown featuring the magnificent McLaren 720S ends with the latter emerging as a winner. Despite that (or, maybe, because of that), tuners continue attempts to best the British vehicle.
The latest contender is this second-generation Ford GT that comes with an 5.4L V8 engine packing formidable 1,000 hp (745 kW). The engineers retrofitted it with two turbochargers and other performance components by Heffner Performance. The entire job cost U.S. $40,000.
The car goes up against the bone-stock McLaren 720S equipped with the 4.0L V8 good for 720 hp (537 kW) and 770 Nm (568 lb×ft) of torque. It accelerates 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.9 seconds and tops out at 341 km/h.
