Carlex Design gives a McLaren 720S an interior makeover

A short while ago, we told you about a Nissan GT-R cabin makeover conducted by Carlex Design. Back then, the Poland-based tuner draped the inside space of the car with red leather and Alcantara and added plenty of carbon fiber inserts for extra style points. Well, as it turns out, the company recreated pretty much the same design in an opulent McLaren 720S a few days ago.

Let us be frank: we will let you decide for yourself whether to like it or not. Personally, we here at FormaCar find the combination of red and black too grim and brooding to our taste. That, and the muscular, sinewy aesthetic of the trim covering the seats, steering wheel, and dashboard gives us uncomfortable flashbacks to the Alien movies. Yikes!

That said, the cabin design now corresponds rather well to the exterior of this particular McLaren 720S, which is perhaps what its owner wanted to achieve in the first place.

The engine bay of the British supercar got to keep its 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine rated at 720 hp (537 kW) and 770 Nm (568 lbĂ—ft) of torque. The standard sprint time is 2.9 seconds, and the top speed is an impressive 341 km/h (212 mph).
