McLaren has launched a series of 15 special 720s named after the famous racetrack corners throughout Europe. The so-called Apex Collection ships with the preinstalled Track Pack, which gives it telemetry and carbon racing seats with six-point safety harnesses.
MSO handled the design of the series, giving it a special steering wheel with a paddle shifter, an active rear spoiler, and a custom exhaust system.
The cars reference the Signe curve of Paul-Ricard, the Abbey corner of Silverstone, the Mobil 1 Kurve of the Hockenheimring, the Eau Rouge fragment of the Spa Francorchamps, and the Ascari chicane of the Italian Monza. All fifteen bear commemorative plaques on their sills quoting McLaren’s apex speed records for these sections.
Power-wise, the series still commands the standard 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 with 720 hp (537 kW) and 770 Nm (568 lb-ft) of torque.
