This year’s Formula 1 championship will begin with the Miami Gran Prix on May 6-8. To celebrate, McLaren has prepared five special 720S supercars wearing the same liveries as its F1 racecar.
The paint scheme combines orange elements on the nose and sides with a New Blue finish on the rear fenders and bonnet lid. Other than that, the quintet comes powered by the standard 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 rated at 720 PS (710 hp / 529 kW) and 770 Nm (568 lb-ft) of torque. The supercar reaches 97 km/h (60 mph) in 2.8 seconds and doubles that acceleration in 7.8 seconds before hitting its limit at 341 km/h (212 mph).
Rumors persist that Audi is interested in acquiring the McLaren Racing department, with some sources suggesting that the German automaker considers making considerable investment into the main McLaren business, too.
