The new McLaren 765LT rightfully counts among the fastest, wildest supercars worldwide, but Novitec takes it up another notch with a performance upgrade.
In its stock form (does the term ‘stock’ even apply?), the British track weapon comes equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 cranked up to 765 PS (754 hp / 563 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. The tuner team adds a secondary ECU to intercept injection and ignition controls from the factory one, raises the boost pressure, and installs an Inconel exhaust system to keep hot gases away from the fiery heart of the car. The net result is 855 PS (843 hp / 629 kW) and just under 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque.
In the video by AutoTopNL, the 765LT demonstrates miracles of gas-powered acceleration, making it to 100 km/h (62 mph) in around 2.5 seconds and 200 km/h (124 mph) in 6.5 seconds or so. It also zaps past 250 km/h (155 mph) with perfect effortlessness. Novitec claims it can do more than 330 km/h (205 mph) on the right track with the right tires, but the German autobahn where the test drive took place was not empty enough to try it.
