Will a Porsche 911 Turbo S beat a McLaren 765LT in a quarter-mile race?

Both the McLaren 765LT and the Porsche 911 Turbo S are ultimate drag strip nemeses capable of sub-10-second quarter-mile times in stock form. But which one is faster? It’s obvious that the match is very close, but YouTube celebrities Shmee150 and The Triple F Collection still wanted some closure on the topic.

Powering the Porsche 911 Turbo S is a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine with 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque headed for the four wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. In turn, the McLaren 765LT boasts a superior 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with the titular 765 PS (755 hp / 563 kW) at its disposal and the same torque as its rival. The transmission is seven-speed automatic.

The Porsche is also considerably heavier than the McLaren thanks to the latter going all-out on carbon fiber. However, the former has the AWD advantage that occasionally proves to be decisive.

So, how do you think the two compared? We aren’t spoiling the outcome for you.
