The new McLaren 600LT just debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in Great Britain. Watch the demonstration video for a rousing drift experience.
The vehicle comes powered by a 3.8L dual-turbo V8 engine almost 600 hp (447 kW) strong. And, judging by the smoking asphalt, it has got enough performance for everyone. A representative of the brand said it could accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in under three seconds and to 200 (125) in hardly more than eight, which leaves the Ferrari 488 GTB behind in clouds of dust.
In contrast to its sibling, the McLaren 570S, the newcomer weighs almost 100 kg (220 lb) less. This was mostly made possible due to active use of composite materials during production. The lower weight comes hand-in-hand with greater downforce, which helps the vehicle enter sharp turns.
The McLaren 600LT series will be available for one year since the launch date. The total production amount is not publicly available.
