McLaren Artura art car explores “psychology of color”

McLaren Automotive partnered up with artist Nat Bowen to create this unique Artura sports car, which is intended to explore the themes of art and future.

Nat Bowen is a British abstract painter famous for her vivid and colorful artworks. The Artura will constitute a part of her first personal art exhibition in Dubai, UAE. The exhibition will reside in the ME Dubai Hotel until March 31, 2022.

The exterior of the supercar is awash with multi-layered pigments that adapt to light and can be said to “absorb the environment, making the car a part of it”, per Bowen.

The Artura is McLaren’s first take on a high-performance hybrid sports car for the mass market. Built on the MCLA platform, it utilizes a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 and an electric motor to drive the wheels with 680 PS (671 hp / 500 kW).
