McLaren has a fair share of racecars in its portfolio, but the only one available right now is the outdated 570S GT4. Could the mysterious camouflaged Artura prototype spied on the Monza Circuit the other day be its replacement?
The filming as done from quite a distance, making it hard to discern smaller details. Despite that, you can still tell a large rear wing and a front spoiler. Any other modifications the prototype may have lie beneath the camo wrap. We would expect the front and rear ends to be different for better air inflow and heat dissipation. Other technical mods are also high on our list of expectations.
The McLaren Artura broke cover in early 2021 powered by a hybridized 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6. The system produced 680 PS (671 hp / 500 kW) and 804 Nm (593 lb-ft) of torque. In its alleged racecar version, the Artura will likely keep the V6 intact and get rid of the heavy electric add-on.
Of course, this is all speculation at this time, so let us wait for some official information to arrive.
