McLaren Senna LM pays homage to Le Mans-winning F1 GTR

McLaren F1 GTR took the 24 Hours of Le Mans by storm a quarter of a century ago, claiming the first, third, fourth, fifth and 13th places in the ranking. Today, the British marque celebrates that victory with just five road-legal Senna LM hypercars.

The special edition was prepared by MSO upon requests from two McLaren North America dealerships – North Jersey and Orlando. Its exterior design echoes the styling of five road-legal F1 LM cars McLaren built straight after winning the race. Each one was lighter than its production counterpart, came with a boosted engine, enhanced aerodynamics and a Papaya Orange livery reminiscent of the Can-Am racers of the 1960s.

Each car out of the five units produced packs a 4.0-liter V8 similar to that of the Senna GTR model, but forced to deliver 825 hp (615 kW) instead of 800 hp (596 kW). Noteworthy features include OZ wheels, custom exterior and cabin details, and commemorative plaques. Aerodynamics has been improved and the vivid orange livery faithfully recreated after the original.
