Watch a Lego F1 supercar get built in a 1-minute time lapse video

Representatives of Lego constructed a Formula One racer out of Lego bricks and condensed the entire process in a video just one minute long.

The team of Lego Australia drew inspiration from the current McLaren F1, inviting racing drivers to consult them on building individual blocks. The result turned out 5.7 meters (18.7 feet) long and 2.4 meters (7.9 feet) wide.

1,893 workhours and 288,315 Lego Technik bricks was used in the process. The traditional orange and blue paint scheme was preserved.

As impressive as the work may seem, it is neither the first nor the largest Lego racecar on record. In September 2021, the company created a car out of 500,000 pieces for the Saudi Arabia Gran Prix. Two years earlier, they reproduced a Ferrari racer using 350,000 parts.
