Uniquely colored McLaren Sabre looks for a new owner

McLaren has only ever produced 15 Sabre units, and the U.S.-exclusive supercar was the marque’s fastest two-seater at the time.

Each example was thoroughly customized to suit the owner, with the implication that no two were the same. This one was specified with a unique chameleon livery combining a naked carbon base with Pacific Color Stream highlights. The number 03 can be seen next to the front wheels.

McLaren took advantage of the comparatively lenient car production standards in the United States versus Europe and made the Sabre wider than its other supercars. It also outfitted it with small and stylish side mirrors and a massive rear wing that would be banned for obstructing rear view in the EU.

Other than that, the Sabre is essentially a McLaren Senna powered by a 4.0-liter V8 with 824 PS (813 hp / 606 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. With a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph), it is only second to the Speedtail three-seater in that respect.

Open the door to discover carbon fiber, Alcantara and colorful accents designed to match the exterior.

With 310 km (193 miles) under its belt, the car is virtually new. It cost $3.79 million USD new, but there is no public asking price.
