A 2019 McLaren Senna got into a road incident in Chicago in November 2022 and was deemed a complete write-off. It is currently being traded at Copart, with the seller reckoning that you could sell it for $1.3–1.4 million once restored.
The vehicle belonged to YouTuber Steve Hamilton, who had his car rammed by another at a crossroads. The front left part of the body was smashed in rather badly, and the incredibly complex structure of the supercar prompted the insurer to proclaim it non-repairable.
The two-door vehicle lacks a driver’s door, has a bent door frame at the driver’s side, a damaged left front wheel and fender, and dysfunctional suspension. There is a visible crack in the carbon-fiber frame as well.
The law prohibits such cars from ever being used on the U.S. roads again even after restoration, but the seller reckons it might still be street-legal overseas. Buyers might also use it for a custom project of one kind or another, as an unusual show exhibit, or as a wreck on display in the garage.
With all the surviving units and components considered, the final price is expected to reach $200,000, at most $300,000. Whoever ends up acquiring the wreck will need another $1,000,000 or so to restore it to peak condition (provided that only authentic components are used).
