McLaren has announced the impending production start of its newest hybrid supercar, the Speedtail. The prototypes have passed all the tests, so the assembly should begin in mere days or weeks.
The test protocol included acceleration to the maximum speed, racetrack trials, and brake efficiency tests. The British luxury carmaker used the Space Center proving grounds in Florida, USA, where the 1,070bhp (800-kW) supercar has reportedly hit 250 mph (403 km/h) over 30 times in a single day.
First shipments will be made in February 2020, and the production run will be kept down to 106 units.
