Low-mileage 2020 McLaren Speedtail set to bring home $3M+

This 2020 McLaren Speedtail is the 100th out of 106 units produced, and it has only 312 km (194 miles) on the odo. It is heading to the auction block early next year, and bids could exceed $3 million USD.

The Speedtail is touted as a successor of sorts to the iconic McLaren F1, sharing the same interior layout with the driver’s seat in the middle and two passenger’s seats slightly behind.

A hybrid powertrain, which incorporates a four-liter V8 and multiple electric motors, produces 1,050 PS (1,036 hp / 772 kW). The car needs 12.8 seconds to sprint 0-300 km/h (0-186 mph) and maxes out beyond 400 km/h (248 mph).

This particular example combines a Volcano Yellow exterior with black roof and engine bay lid. MSO treated the cabin to semi-aniline leather in the same shades as the exterior. Travel bags are included in the trunk.

The entire Speedtail series had been pre-sold before production start, and McLaren admits it had to screen its prospective buyers to make sure they wanted the exotics for themselves and not for resale. Nonetheless, some Speedtails still ended up on the secondary market. For instance, the example number 36 cropped up on sale at the beginning of the year with an asking price of $3.3 million USD, a sizable reseller’s premium over the original launch price of $2 million.
