Swedish automaker Luvly has unveiled its first production car, an all-electric supermini called simply the ‘O’. The company says it managed to keep the pricing below €10,000 thanks to clever design and production management.
The car is only 2.7 meters (105.5 inches) long and weighs as little as 380 kilograms (838 pounds). It only has enough room for two people, but offers a decent trunk area with around 270 liters (9.5 cubic feet) of space. Despite being so compact, Luvly claims the car is fully suitable for taller people. The CEO of the company himself – who is 193 cm (6’4”) tall – had allegedly tested and approved of it.
The powertrain output is unspecified, but we know that the battery holds up to 6.4 kilowatt-hours of juice, giving you 100 km (62 miles) of driving range. The battery consists of two units that you can unplug and carry home for a wall socket charge. Reaching full charge takes only one hour.
Pre-orders are already running, but it remains unknown when the live sales may begin.
