After its debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April, the exclusive Dragon Armor edition of the Mengshi M-Hero SUV is now available to preorder in China. Prices range from 768,000 to 868,000 Yuan, representing a 130,000 bump over the standard version.
Compared to that version, the Dragon Armor is a serious off-roader dressed out in a rugged body kit with new bumpers, towing hooks and roll bars. It rides on special wheels shod in mud tires and has tool racks for expedition gear and equipment.
Replacing 20% of the bodywork with carbon fiber parts helped keep the weight in check, the company says. The radiator grille has been replaced, and the hood cover has received large air intakes. Rounding off the list of off-road equipment are an expedition rack on the roof, a trailer hook and a winch rated at 5.6 metric tons (12,345 lbs).
Customers can opt for a new sandy exterior color and consider three new trim colors for the cabin – grey, white and orange.
