The winner of the last Pebble Beach Concours
d'Elegance '2017 Elegance Contest was named. It was a two-door open
Mercedes-Benz S Barker Tourer in 1929.
The owner of a rare car, Bruce McCaw from Bellevue,
Washington, USA, after much thinkings about "why something needs to be
restored, if it does not need it", decided to restore the car specifically
to take part in competition.
Under the hood of the winner is a 7.0-liter
six-cylinder unit with a mechanical supercharger. The body of the car is made
of aluminum. By the way, the car was specially built for Earl Howe, the winner
of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Mille Miglia. During the passage of the event
the car traveled 112 kilometers.
Together with the Mercedes-Benz S Barker Tourer, the
Ferrari 315 S Scaglietti Spyder 1957 and Packard 906 Twin Six Dietrich
Convertible Victoria took part in the competition. The
Еlegance concourse in total attracted 204 cars from 15 countries.
