Mercedes-Benz to reveal its new GLB SUV concept at the 2019 Auto Shanghai

German automotive company Mercedes-Benz will come to the 2019 Auto Shanghai show starting later this month with a pre-production version of its new GLB mini-SUV. The car is said to possess certain design traits of the latest G-Class, and the company hopes to use it to fill the market gap between its GLA and GLC models.

Based on the teaser pic revealed earlier today, the Shanghai debutant has an MBUX infotainment system on board, with a single touchscreen display serving the functions of the multimedia screen and the digital instrument panel.

The new Mercedes-Benz GLB takes advantage of the MFA architecture also adopted by the latest A-Class, GLA, and CLA. The company says it will ship with an assortment of gasoline and diesel engines rated between 160 – 300 hp (120 – 224 kW), as well as a choice between FWD and 4WD. Notable options include air suspension and adaptive shock absorbers.

This is not official yet, but certain sources claim the car will enter mass production in the city of Rastatt, Germany, either in late 2019 or early 2020.
