Mercedes teases a blurred pic of the 2020 GLB SUV

Mercedes-Benz has released a strongly blurred teaser image of its upcoming GLB model, a seven-seat SUV that will be revealed later this summer and occupy a niche between the GLA and GLC when it finally hits the market.

In fact, the pic is so blurred the only thing you can see well enough is the taillights. But then again, we have spy shots of the new 2020 GLB that confirm that the car stays true to its concept version, complete with the same squared-off headlights, a rounded front bumper, and a radiator grille with two stripes.

The SUV also sports roof railings, protective plastic moldings, and a GLS-like rear end.

Technical specs remain unannounced. Likely powertrain candidates include a four-cylinder diesel engine available with 150 hp (112 kW) or 190 hp (142 kW), and a 2.0-liter gasoline engine producing 190 hp (142 kW) or 225 hp (168 kW), depending on the trim version. An all-electric variant called the EQB will also arrive later on, packing a battery sufficient for 500 kilometers (310 miles) of uninterrupted driving.

Mercedes-AMG also has a few premieres to make this summer, including the GLB 35 and the GLB 45. The former will be getting a turbo engine with 305 hp (228 kW) at its disposal, and the latter will ship with a choice between 390 and 420 hp (291 and 313 kW, respectively).
