Futuristic sports hybrid Project One from Mercedes-AMG will go to the series in 2019. Since the technology used to build the Formula 1 cars was used to create it, it was logical that the car of the future would be assembled at a factory in the UK's Yurkli. The company specializes in the production of those same cars. And the motor, located in Brixworth, will be the motor.
An interesting fact is that the "dad" of the powerplant of the hybrid was a 1.6-liter V6 engine, which spins up to 11,000 rpm. This is achieved by replacing standard valves with pneumatic distributors, as well as an electrically driven turbocharger.
An internal combustion engine will be installed in the back of Project One. He will work in tandem with an electric motor, giving out to the rear axle 680 hp. Together with two electric power units that rotate the front wheels, they will generate more than 1,000 "horses" at the output.
As test races showed, Mercedes-AMG Project One makes the first "hundred" in 2.5 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of more than 350 km/h. Racing suspension, adjustable shock absorbers, carburetor ceramic brake system and traction control make from Project One a real sports car that is much ahead of its time.
