Spied: Electric Mercedes-Benz E-Class caught on camera

Daimler AG announced last month that the E-Class would receive an all-electric branch named EQE, and this freshly filmed video seems to feature that particular car.

The test mule was spotted running alongside the Mercedes-Benz EQS, the marque’s current flagship EV. The mule can be seen sporting a shorter, differently shaped body with its third brake light in a new position.

The upcoming EQE should prove even more environment-friendly and dynamic than any other E-Class model, except perhaps for those from the AMG lineup. It will likely extract around 408 hp (304 kW) and 765 Nm (564 lb-ft) from its dual-motor powertrain and have a range bordering on 600 kilometers (373 miles). The Vision EQS from a year ago produced 476 hp (355 kW) and had 700 km (435 miles) of range when fully charged.

The EQE will certainly take advantage of such modern tech as four-wheel steering, air suspension, and partial autonomous driving. Production should begin before the end of 2021.

Aside from this, we should be seeing the Mercedes-Benz EQA (electrified GLA) debut later this year, the EQB next year, and the EQG (electrified G-Class) in 2022. The latter should become available side-by-side with its traditional ICE-powered G-Class.
