The legendary 300 SEL ‘Rote Sau‘ that the Mercedes-AMG division built half of a century ago claimed silver at the 24 Hours of Spa Francorchamps, marking the first major victory for AMG and securing its career. Now, the company wants to immortalize that victory through releasing a trio of 50 Years Legend of Spa vehicles.
The star of the collection is an SLS AMG GT3, and it is accompanied by GT racecars built in 2016 and 2020. All three wear special liveries inspired by the original Rote Sau (‘Red Pig’) racer and use the same 6.3-liter V8 rated at 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW) and 635 Nm (468 lb-ft) of torque.
Unique traits help individual supercars stand out. For instance, the 2016 GT3 sports the chassis number 100, the 2020 model comes upgraded with a new exhaust system and cutting-edge racing tech, and the SLS wears the last original set of bodywork that survived the storage to this day.
Elsewhere, all three sport carbon-fiber dashboards, special edition logos and Graphite Grey Metallic safety cages. Prices range from €500,000 for the 2016 model to €650,000 for the SLS.
