Tobias Moers, head of Mercedes-AMG, has confirmed that the company is already planning the next-generation update of its C-Class 63 vehicle range, which it going to be released starting in 2020 with hybrid engines on board.
He went on to say that the company had to review its engine policy due to increasingly harsh environmental laws being imposed on car manufacturers everywhere. He stressed that these hybrid models wouldn’t be inferior to their gasoline-powered counterparts in terms of performance.
The entire current-generation Mercedes C-Class 63 car family comes equipped with 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 engines rated at 475 hp (354 kW), while the S Class gets the same engines revved up to 510 hp (380 kW).
