Mercedes-Benz unveils the China-only A-Class L Sedan

German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has debuted an extended compact car titled the Mercedes-Benz A-Class L Sedan and intended for sale exclusively in China.

The vehicle celebrated its premiere at the annual Beijing Automotive Exhibition on April 25, 2018. It is 4,609 millimeters (15 ft.) long and will be assembled on the Daimler and BAIC Motor facilities in China.

The new Mercedes-Benz A-Class L Sedan is based on the MFA platform – the same, actually, as the one used for its hatchback sibling. The two cars are identical in terms of front body design; only the rear is different. On the inside, there is an infotainment system with voice control support as well as some premium options normally reserved for the S-Class flagship.

The car will arrive in showrooms in China in two specifications, Sedan and Sport Sedan. Both will ship with 1.33-liter gasoline engines performing at either 136 or 163 hp (101 or 121 kW). A two-liter, 190-hp (142 kW) strong engine will be made available at a later date. Regardless of your choice, all cars get seven-speed DCT.
