Mercedes-Benz unveils the new A-Class sedan

German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has posted the first teaser pic of its next-generation A-Class sedan. The vehicle’s aerodynamic drag coefficient is class-leading low at 0.22 Cx, and it is scheduled for an international release.

In order to reduce drag as much as possible, Mercedes engineers had to use 3D drag simulation and run numerous wind-channel tests in the real world.

The next generation of Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan comes with a shorter front part, tighter lights layout, closer-fitting body panels, and completely sealed bottom. All of the above contributes to drag minimization.

Aside from the above, the vehicle sports new wheels and tires, two spoilers and aerodynamic flaps behind the radiator grille.

The next-generation sedan series will be assembled in Germany and Mexico. Sales will begin before the end of 2018.
