The new Mercedes-AMG A45 won’t premiere until this autumn, but we can still catch a glimpse or two of the newcomer thanks to the seemingly omnipresent spy photographers. These shots were made at the Nürburgring racing course in Germany.
Those who observed the tests said the Mercedes-AMG A45 prototype showed what looked like subpar cornering ability at its skid threshold. Then again, the company still has enough time to polish all systems and components of the car to eliminate any remaining issues. In fact, we have no doubt the A45 will be fast, agile and capable of running the entire North Loop in less than eight minutes. It might even end up setting a record as the world’s fastest production compact hatchback.
The series comes powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine available in 362 and 415 hp (270 / 310 kW) versions. Just which one the company used in this particular prototype was impossible to determine due to the loudly squealing tires, the spotters said.
