The German performance tuner has persuaded the world’s most powerful four-cylinder engine to churn out more power than ever.
The Posaidon RS 525 kit for the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S replaces the turbocharger and thus raises the output from 421 PS (415 hp, or 309 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque to 525 PS (518 hp, or 386 kW) along with 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. This shaves a whopping half-second off the standard sprint time of 3.9 seconds, taking the hot hatch from zero to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. The top speed likewise rises from 270 to 324 km/h (from 168 to 201 mph, respectively).
Those who would prefer to keep the original turbine assembly intact may opt for a trimmed-down version of the kit, which still brings 465 hp (347 kW) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque to the table. Tuned like this, the car needs 3.6 seconds to launch and maxes out at 318 km/h (197.6 mph).
Other options currently available from Posaidon include enhanced brakes and exhaust system. The tuner plans to release new 20-inch carbon-fiber wheels for the AMG A 45 S before the end of the year.
